Rain, every day for weeks now. Considered building an Ark.Debbie and I have been hard at it working ten and twelve hours a day pushing sand at the tide of a Bad Economy. I think we’re winning. At least every indication is that it’s coming back strong. Can you feel it? The vibrations are intensifying. My seminar in Atlantic City was well-attended, first time in nearly a year that we turned out a moderately good crowd. The content is better than it’s ever been, especially with all of the new Internet marketing and Technology-enabled sales in the seminar. Getting really good comments and results from attendees. Nearly 100 sales people in my Baton Rouge seminar on May 19th. The energy seems to be intensifying as we are all on a journey to the other side of this mess. SO…last week Debbie and I decided we needed to get away from it all. Memorial Day weekend coming up seemed like a good idea. Thought about our usual haunts on the beaches at Destin, Florida…or maybe, Panama City. Then it hit us…why not The Ritz-Carlton lodge at Lake Oconee, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia? Why not? We’ve never been there in Spring or Summer. As you may recall from earlier posts here, Debbie and I have spent every Thanksgiving for the the last six years there. It is our traditional place with an incredible Thanksgiving upscale brunch. BUT, never any other time. So…we packed up Sadie (it is d0g-friendly with a hefty pet deposit, non-refunadable but worth it) and headed on to the Lodge. A two-night stay, you know Debbie; The Escalade was packed full, gave the bellman a hernia. (joke)Sadie was a hit with everyone. Nobody can resist that puppy, she is pure love. I have to say, the entire weekend was about ‘nothing’. No schedules, no sales pressure, just relaxation and being together. I deliberately left the cell phone in the car, and did not even take the laptop. No communication from the outside world, no internet, no Facebook or Twitter…just me n’ mommy and puppy taking nature walks and boring old people stuff like that. It was great. There’s a new restaurant there about two miles from the lodge called ‘Filet’ in Greensboro. Let me tell you, unequivocably, the best…I mean the best…grilled to perfection Ribeye I’ve had in years…and you know I eat in many upscale restaurants…no amateur opinion here. it was really-really good. Debbie had Filet Mignon, just as good. Well, that was our little weekend getaway. I strongly suggest you take a look at the Lodge and consider joining us for thanksgiving there. it is an incredibly memorable experience and the please is very family-oriented, check it out. JIM
